About this opportunity
WorldQuant University is a US institution accredited by the DEAC that runs a two-year master's in financial engineering at no cost to the student.
The programme is nine graduate courses plus a capstone, taken one at a time in sequence, covering financial markets, econometrics, derivative pricing, machine learning and portfolio and risk management, largely in Python.
It is genuinely free - no tuition and no per-course fee - but it is demanding. Expect 20 to 25 hours a week, and you must pass a quantitative entrance test covering calculus, linear algebra, probability, statistics and Python at 75% before you are admitted. You need a bachelor's degree already.
Cameroon is eligible. Only nationals of five sanctioned countries or regions are excluded.
If you graduated from an anglophone Cameroonian university the English test requirement is waived; francophone graduates will need to sit and pay for a Duolingo, TOEFL, IELTS or PTE test themselves.
Applications close on 29 September 2026 and the programme starts on 6 October. That is a short window for assembling a transcript and passing the entrance test, so start today or aim at the next intake. If the entrance test is out of reach right now, the free Applied Data Science Lab on this board needs no degree and admits on a rolling basis.
