What it is
The Gates Cambridge Scholarship funds outstanding postgraduate students from outside the UK to take a full-time postgraduate degree at the University of Cambridge, in any subject.
Which round this is
This card covers the US round — for citizens of the United States who are ordinarily resident there. Applicants from every other country apply in the international round, which closes 8 December 2026 or 6 January 2027 depending on the course.

- The University Composition Fee at the appropriate rate
- A maintenance allowance for the scholar

- Discretionary funding: academic development, family and fieldwork allowances
How to apply
There is no separate Gates Cambridge form. You apply for your Cambridge course through the University's Applicant Portal by the deadline and complete the Gates Cambridge section within it. Full application and documents must be submitted by 23:59 UK time.
US round closes Wednesday 14 October 2026 at 23:59 UK time.
