Courses, projects and certifications are all free; freeCodeCamp is a registered US public charity funded by donors
About this opportunity
freeCodeCamp is a registered US charity that publishes a full coding curriculum at no cost. There is no application and no intake window - you open the curriculum page, create a free account to save your progress, and begin.
The certifications include Responsive Web Design, JavaScript Algorithms and Data Structures, Front-End Development Libraries, Python, Relational Databases, and Back-End Development and APIs, alongside a Certified Full-Stack Developer curriculum.
Each certification takes roughly 300 hours and requires you to build five projects that must pass automated tests before the certificate is issued. That means it rewards sustained work rather than watching videos, and the certificate is evidence you actually built something.
Everything runs in the browser, which matters if you are studying on a shared machine at a cyber cafe or on a modest laptop. Certificates are verifiable by a public link, which is useful when applying for junior developer or freelance work.
freeCodeCamp is honest about pace: its own FAQ warns that becoming job-ready may take several years of practice and advises against leaving school or a job prematurely.
